As part of Medicals International's commitment to advancing innovation in eye care, a specialized Refractive Surgery fellowship program was launched in 2022, providing advanced training for promising ophthalmologist.

After finalizing his Master's degree in Ophthalmology at Ain Shams University in Cairo and his residency at the National Eye Center in Cairo, Dr. Gendy was selected as our first Fellow under the supervision and guidance of a world-renowned refractive surgeon, Professor Shady Awwad

Dr. Gendy gained in-depth expertise in the latest techniques for laser-assisted vision correction procedures such as LASIK and PRK. He was also trained in areas where training opportunities are scarce, including therapeutic refractive surgery, such as Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments (CAIRS) as well as Wavefront-Guided Trans-PRK (WG-TPRK) for patients with Keratoconus.

Moreover, he had the privilege to participate in cutting-edge research and development.
